During my last pregnancy my kids were very interested in the whole process. They enjoyed watching my belly grow, watching the baby kick and going to my dr. appointments with me! Addison would always be my "big helper" and hold my hand while the dr. listened the Owen's heartbeat. She felt so special and like a part of the whole deal! As I got farther along I had CONSTANT UTI's and ended up at the hospital a few times because of really bad pain or contractions. After a few hospital trips Addison asked me how the baby gets out of my tummy! Of course I didn't want to tell her the truth, she's 3 years old!! So I told her the dr. gets the baby out of my belly butoon. Her eyes lit up like she saw Santa Claus coming. She said, "the dr. gets the baby out with a magic key!!!" I went along with it, it seemed to all make sense for her after that! After that, whenever we would go to the dr. or hospital and Addison would see keys laying around she would think it was the -MAGIC KEY. One time my dr. had his keys hanging from his belt loop and Addison asked him about them! He was very nice and went along with it!
I've been told I should write a book about the magic key but haven't done anything with it. It's a good way to explain where babies come from to little kids!!
